On Tuesday night, firefighters from CVFD participated in an Initial Attack drill aimed at enhancing their firefighting skills. The drill involved several key components, including establishing a water supply from a hydrant to Engine 232, deploying and properly flaking out hose lines, and advancing the hose lines for fire suppression.

To simulate a realistic scenario, cones were strategically placed to represent a narrow hallway. Firefighters practiced advancing the hose line through this simulated hallway, demonstrating their proficiency in navigating confined spaces to reach the fire room.

Once firefighters reached the fire room, they effectively applied water to the fire (the Burn Pile), practicing different fire suppression techniques. Nozzle Operator and Backup Firefighter best practices were reviewed and practiced as well.
