On Tuesday night, members of CVFD conducted a radio drill to practice on communicating with one another on the radio. Shapes were set up in the apparatus bay to represent a room and firefighters conducted a search and had to relay to an Incident Commander, who was outside of the building, on the positioning of the shapes in relation to their search. With that information, the Incident Commander had to draw out these shapes on a white board and once completed, black dots would be put on the white board to represent the placement of cones on the shape, which then the incident commander would relay to the search crew and they would successfully have to place the cones in the correct position

This drill benefitted our members in their radio communication and gave the opportunity to learn effective search methods and how to properly relay findings through the radio.
