On Friday night, September 13th, a couple of members from the CVFD took a trip to Millwood FD for the Westchester County Volunteer Firefighters Association (WCVFA) meeting and during this meeting, The department received a Unit Citation of “Firefighter of the Year” for the valiant actions taken on January 15th, 2024 that rescued many lives from the structure fire that had occurred at 56 Roa Hook Road. This citation was accepted by Captain Justin Loja on behalf of CVFD, and we would like to thank the members that came down to support us and all the members present at this incident that put in all their hard work to contain and control this incident. We hope to continue forward stronger and striving to be as great as possible. Thank you to Millwood FD for hosting the meeting and providing dinner, and thank you to the WCVFA for honoring us with this wonderful citation!
