On Saturday afternoon the Continental Village Fire Department was dispatched to Route 9 for a large unattended open burn. Upon arrival firefighters went to work extinguishing the burn pile. Garrison Fire Departments tanker was brought in Mutual Aid to supply additional water for the operation. Firefighters returned to service about an hour later.
